How to use the Denneroll

  1. Prepare the Surface: Lay on a firm, flat surface such as a floor or carpeted area. Do not use a bed, as it allows the body to sink and reduces the traction effect.

  2. Position the Device: Place the Cervical Denneroll behind your neck. The marked "shoulder" side should be pointing down toward your shoulders, with your head falling back over the top.

  3. Ensure Correct Alignment: Your head should rest near the floor but not touch it. If your head touches the floor, place a towel under the Denneroll to raise it. In some cases, your chiro will ask you to rest your head on the floor.

  4. Set the Position: As instructed by your practitioner, align the peak of the Denneroll:

    • Mid-Lower Neck (C5-C7): For general neck curvature loss or upper back pain.

    • Mid-Neck: For middle cervical issues (often aligned under the earlobe).

    • Upper Neck (Occipital-C1): For tension headaches.

  5. Relax and Hold: Bend your knees to reduce tension in your spine. Start with short 1-3 minute sessions, then slowly build up to 5-10 minutes, or up to 20 minutes if advised.

  6. Safely Exit the Device: Do not lift your head up quickly. Instead, with bended knees, roll onto your side, allowing the device to come out from under your neck. Wait 30 seconds to avoid dizziness

FREQUENTLY Asked QUESTIONS

What does the Denneroll do?

The Cervical Denneroll is a specialized, pillow-like foam orthotic device (made of EVA foam) engineered with precise curves, angles, and ridges based on Chiropractic BioPhysics® research. It is used to correct loss of the normal C-shaped cervical lordosis (neck curve) that often occurs from poor posture, tech neck, whiplash, or injury. It comes in different sizes (Small, Medium, Large) to match body type and the exact location of the curve problem. It is only available through trained spinal health professionals, not sold directly to the public.

How does the Cervical Denneroll work?

When you lie on your back on a firm surface (floor or bench) and place the Denneroll under your neck in the prescribed position, it applies gentle passive extension and “mirror-image” traction to the cervical spine. This targeted stretch gradually remodels the spinal curve, stretches tight muscles and ligaments, and helps decompress the joints. Over time, consistent use helps retrain the neck toward its healthy lordotic shape.

What are the main benefits of using a Cervical Denneroll?

Research-backed benefits include:

•  Restoring the natural cervical curve (lordosis)

•  Reducing forward head posture and “tech neck”

•  Decreasing neck pain, headaches, and muscle tension

•  Improving range of motion and overall spinal alignment

•  Supporting better nerve, ligament, and muscle function for long-term neck health

It is often used alongside chiropractic adjustments and corrective exercises for faster, more lasting results.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Absolutely. Pairing the Denneroll with chiropractic care enhances its benefits and promotes faster healing.
