Chiropractic for Children

SUPPORTING GROWING BODIES AND DEVELOPING NERVOUS SYSTEMS

Why Chiropractic for Kids?

As children grow, their bodies and nervous systems are constantly adapting — learning to crawl, walk, run, concentrate, regulate emotions, and respond to the world around them.
Chiropractic helps support these important milestones by gently restoring movement and function to the spine and nervous system.

Common

We assess how well the spine and nervous system are moving and communicating. Gentle chiropractic care aims to restore balance and coordination in the body, which often has a flow-on effect in sleep, behaviour, and digestion.

Is Chiropractic Safe for Children?

Yes — when performed by qualified chiropractors with experience in paediatric care.

In 2020, Safe Care Victoria reviewed over 20 years of data and found no serious adverse events linked to chiropractic care in children under 12. The review, led by Dr. Genevieve Keating, confirmed that chiropractic care is low-risk and widely accessed by families seeking help for musculoskeletal and functional issues.

Dr. Renee Sathiaraj

 B.Chiro.Sc, M.Chiro

Gentle, Thorough & Always Listening

Dr. Renee brings a steady calmness and a thoughtful approach to her work with children and families. She’s especially known for her work with shoulder injuries and postural issues in older kids and teens, but she’s also incredibly gentle with babies and little ones.

With a background in competitive basketball (as a player and referee!), Renee understands how movement, resilience, and recovery all tie together. She takes the time to listen deeply and tailor her care to each child’s stage of growth — helping them move, rest, and function at their best.

When she’s not at the clinic, you’ll probably find her sketching anatomy (yes, really!), exploring new places with her husband, or still on the basketball court.

Founder | Chiropractic with Heart & Whole-Person Insight

With nearly 20 years in practice, Dr. Lindy is the heart behind Balanced for Life. She brings a deep respect for the body’s design, a love for educating families, and a calm confidence that puts kids and parents at ease.

Lindy focuses on restoring function in the spine and nervous system so children can adapt more easily — physically, emotionally, and neurologically. From unsettled babies to school-aged kids facing postural stress, she uses a gentle, holistic approach to help them move better and thrive.

She also teaches partner workshops, mentors new chiropractors, and actively advocates for collaborative care.

When she’s not in clinic, you’ll find her hiking, paddleboarding, or making music — piano, flute, or bass in hand.

Dr. Kara Hayes

 B.Chiro.Sc, M.Chiro

Chiropractor for Pregnancy, Postpartum & Paediatric Care

Dr. Kara has a special interest in supporting women through pregnancy and postpartum, and caring for babies and children as they grow and develop. Her approach is gentle, intuitive, and grounded in respect — for both the body's design and the family’s experience.

She has a keen eye for subtle imbalances and is known for helping babies with feeding challenges, head shape concerns, and tension patterns. With mums, she focuses on restoring comfort and postural balance — especially during the huge transitions that come with motherhood.

Kara loves the continuity of care — often seeing families from bump to baby to toddler. She’s always learning and growing, currently deepening her knowledge in paediatrics and women’s health.

When not adjusting, she’s out in nature or catching up with friends over a good cup of tea.
