Welcome GP

We have created this page, JUST FOR YOU.

What Therapies We Offer.

At Balanced for life we provide a therapeutic, holistic approach to musculoskeletal care that incorporates a range of manual therapies which includes:

  • Spinal or peripheral joint adjustments,

  • Class IV cold laser therapy (MLS),

  • Mobilisation, muscle and soft tissue techniques,

  • Exercise prescription and rehabilitation,

  • Nutritional recommendations and lifestyle advice.

These have been shown to be of benefit to people with a range of musculoskeletal conditions, improving movement and allowing patients to get better quicker.

How We (At Balanced For Life) Are Different.

Chiropractic care is not a one size fits healthcare option. At Balanced for Life, we carefully assess each patient individually and tailor their care accordingly.

First Visit:

The initial appointment is a three-part process.

  1. We take a thorough current and past health history. We believe that in the detail there are significant clinical clues as to why a movement problem or pain has developed. We also want to rule out any pathology, which, as you know, is not our domain. If the problem is not musculoskeletal, we refer back to the GP.

  2. Physical examination, including a musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and neurological examination to identify the root cause of the musculoskeletal complaint.

  3. Begin treatment with the information we have. If further testing is required, we refer for that.

Second Visit:

This is an important step where we take the time to go through the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan with each patient. Most of the time, we have found that patients receive various treatments with no real understanding of their problem. We spend time with each patient, answering any questions and arming them with a take-home treatment plan that has ALL the information they need about their condition.

Progress Review:

At the midpoint in the treatment plan, we do a case review where we re-examine the patient and have an honest conversation to make sure that we are achieving the goals that we set out to. If we are, great, we celebrate; if not, we re-assess and ask the question why, and we then change course. For different types of treatment, refer to another musculoskeletal therapist or refer back to the GP for a specialist referral.

Case Dismissal:

When the clinical objectives have been met, we celebrate with the patient, and then we close the case. Some patients opt to continue care on a maintenance care plan.

Chiropractors Are Quacks!

What we really do and our role in the health care system.

Chiropractors use skill, not force or strength to conduct specific chiropractic adjustments. Various types of manual therapy and low force interventions are also used where appropriate.

Chiropractic care has a very low risk profile, especially when compared with more invasive methods of spinal healthcare however, all forms of chiropractic treatment have the potential for adverse reactions in some people.
