Chiropractic for Disk Bulge
SUPPORTING SPINAL HEALTH, RECOVERY & LONG-TERM FUNCTION
Moving better matters.
Disc injuries can be one of the more complex and frustrating spinal conditions to deal with. Whether caused by injury, prolonged poor posture or age-related changes, disc bulges require careful assessment and a well-structured approach to recovery.
At Balanced for Life, our chiropractors are experienced in managing disc-related issues and helping people regain comfort, strength and confidence in their bodies.
What Is a Disc Bulge?
Between each vertebra in your spine is a soft, cushion-like structure called an intervertebral disc. These discs act as shock absorbers and help the spine move freely.
A disc bulge occurs when the outer fibres of the disc are weakened or damaged and the inner material begins to push outward. This can place pressure on nearby spinal nerves and lead to pain, numbness, tingling or weakness — especially in the back, buttocks, or down the leg (commonly referred to as sciatica).
How long does healing take?
Healing a disc bulge takes time and consistency. While a muscle strain may recover in two to four weeks and a ligament injury in four to six weeks, a disc injury often requires around 12 weeks or longer of structured care and activity modification.
The good news is that chiropractic care can help support and often speed up this healing process by improving spinal alignment, reducing inflammation and supporting the surrounding tissues.

✔️ Gentle chiropractic adjustments to reduce pressure on the disc and nearby nerves
✔️ MLS laser therapy to reduce inflammation and support tissue healing
✔️ Specific stretches and rehabilitation exercises
✔️ Guidance on posture, lifting and ergonomics
✔️ Ice, rest or modified activity advice as needed
✔️ Referral for imaging or medical collaboration if required

Do you have a Disk Bulge?
Not all back pain is caused by disc issues, but if you are experiencing sharp or radiating pain, numbness, or weakness, especially in the legs or arms, it is important to get assessed by a trained professional.
You do not need a referral to see us. We will take the time to listen to your history, assess your spine and develop a clear plan to help you recover.
