Why Chiropractic for Pregnancy?
During pregnancy, several physiological and endocrinological changes occur in preparation for creating the environment for the developing baby.
The following changes could result in a misaligned spine or joints:
-
Protruding abdomen and increased back curve
-
Pelvic changes
-
Postural adaptations

✔️ Maintaining a healthier pregnancy
✔️ Controlling symptoms of nausea
✔️ Reducing the time of labour and delivery
✔️ Relieving back, neck or joint pain
✔️ Prevent a potential cesarean delivery
Benefits
of seeing a qualified chiropractor during pregnancy
Establishing pelvic balance and alignment is another reason to consult with our Castle Hill chiropractor during pregnancy. When the pelvis is misaligned, it may reduce the amount of room available for the developing baby. This restriction is called intrauterine constraint. A misaligned pelvis may also make it difficult for the baby to get into the best possible position for delivery. This can affect the mother’s ability to have a natural, non-invasive birth. Breech and posterior positions can interfere with the natural ease of labour and lead to interventions such as c-sections.
The nervous system is the master communication system to all the body systems, including the reproductive system. Keeping the spine aligned helps the entire bodywork more effectively, which is why pregnancy chiropractic care can prove so important. Help your body feel and move better.

Chiropractic care can be an essential part of any woman’s pregnancy, allowing you to stay comfortable, mobile and healthy during this special time in your life. It will enable women to carry and deliver their children with more comfort and ease.
International studies have shown that women receiving chiropractic care throughout their first pregnancy had 24% shorter labour times and women with subsequent pregnancies reported 39% shorter labour times. As well as this chiropractic care during pregnancy can control symptoms of nausea, reduce heartburn, and relieve back, neck and joint pain, without the need for drugs. For such an exciting time in your life, wouldn’t you want it to be as free of pain as possible?
Our chiropractors located in Castle Hill and Windsor undertake a complete and detailed assessment of each person before treatment and tailor a personalised program of care depending on the needs of the individual. We also use gentle techniques of chiropractic care suited to your condition and pregnancy pain.
How Can a Chiropractor Help with Pregnancy Pain?
Pain and discomfort are common symptoms during pregnancy; unfortunately, it can be difficult to find relief. Many women turn to pain medication for help, but this is not always the best option. Chiropractic care for pregnancy pain is a safe and effective way to find treatment and receive long-term relief.
Chiropractors are trained to work with pregnant women, and they can safely adjust the spine and pelvis to help realign the pelvis and take pressure off the lower back and hips. Regular appointments for pregnancy chiropractic care lead to significant pain relief for many women.
In addition to adjustments, chiropractors may also recommend other therapies such as massage or acupuncture, which can also be very helpful in relieving pain during pregnancy.
You did the hard work during labour, but mum, sorry to tell you, it is not over yet. After your bundle of joy arrives, you will be nursing, carrying, and cuddling. Unfortunately, when you return home, no Workplace Health and Safety Officer is making sure that there are two other people available to help you lift and shift your way through the day, that your “workstation” is set up correctly, and RDO’s so you can take a day off to recover if you are in pain. Women who have never experienced back pain develop neck and back pain after childbirth as they care for their newborns. Feeding, changing, bathing, and dressing your baby all day and night can strain your neck and back in ways you never thought possible.
Chiropractic care can help restore the body to functioning optimally, even helping rebalance your body’s emotions and hormones. Your focus is all about caring for your family, but what will happen if you are in too much pain? You need to take time to focus on your well-being. This is where we can help.
